To coaches & teachers looking for more growth & expansion in their practice...
- Are you driven to empower your clients to change their lives through movement?
- Do you want to craft a practice with more integrity and authenticity?
- Are you passionate about going beyond the norm and getting to the root of the problem?
- Do you struggle to find confidence & clarity in your practice?
Thousands of other teachers and trainers around the world go through the same frustrations as you. They want to make a bigger impact and powerfully serve their clients. They want to create a fulfilling business that inspires and challenges them to do their best work (without going broke in the process). They're driven to improve their work, but they often feel overwhelmed by their options and don't know where to turn.
I felt the same way. I've been in your shoes.
Imagine what your practice could look like if you knew how to confidently help clients improve both body and mind. You'd not only change their movement...you'd change their lives. You could empower them to move without pain, improve their mobility and performance, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves in the process. You would know the principles underlying their problems and could co-create a truly powerful coaching experience for them. You'd finally be able to make your impact.
There are three things you need to take your practice to the next level.
1) A holistic movement framework
This is the foundation of your practice. Too many coaches hop from workshop to workshop without ever giving themselves time to synthesize the information they've learned. They're left with a bag of tricks, rather than a set of principles to build upon. The more effective approach is to connect the dots between disciplines and emphasize the commonalities, rather than the differences.
Most modalities take a narrow, fragmented view. They focus on just the body or just the mind, and they end up missing the big picture. Your clients don't live in a vacuum. They're part a beautifully interconnected system, and ALL of those things matter. Everything ties together:
- We have to take care of the body with an understanding of physiology, motor control, and programming. It's crucial that we understand the science behind mobility, strength, and pain.
- And also keep in mind we have a nervous system, a mind, and emotions working behind the scenes. Knowing how to cue effectively and facilitate the learning process are powerful tools.
- Your clients' environment and habits plays a big part in how they move and feel. It's imperative that you understand how to help them make sustainable lifestyle changes for lasting progress.
In The Soma School we call this practice Ecosomatics. We work within the mind/body/environment model to address specific movement dysfunctions and the real root causes of the issue. When you do so, you not only change a client's movement...you change their life.
2) Clarity & communication
It doesn't matter how much you know. If you can't communicate effectively, your practice stagnates, and you can't make an impact. But no certifications or workshops teach coaches this crucial skill. In the Deep Coaching Intensive you'll learn how to build a bridge to your clients and lead them farther by mastering effective communication, coaching, and cueing.
Language is how you connect with the right people, how you enroll them in the right offerings, and how you help make the biggest difference in their lives. You must learn how to use conversation as effectively as you use movement.
Think about it: you can only do so much in a handful of sessions each week. Great coaches know how to use those sessions to educate and empower their clients. They take themselves out of the equation and instill independence in their clients. This amplifies their value tenfold.
Some coaches fear losing a client, but the rest of us know that we're here to change people, not trap them. And a walking success story is the best marketing we have.
3) Deep inner work
Few coaches know how to address the mindset hurdles that keep them from setting themselves apart and making a bigger impact. This goes beyond positive thinking and affirmations. Somatic educator Moshe Feldenkrais said the "we act in accordance with our self-image." If you want to change how you show up in your practice, it's imperative that you dig in to the blocks in your mindset.
What do those blocks look like?
If you're like most coaches, you deal with countless obstacles and fears:
A struggle to find confidence in your practice
Insecurity over charging what you're worth
Lack of self-worth
No focus and organization
Fear of putting yourself out there as an expert
Fear of moving away from what's comfortable
You get caught up in your own head and paralyze yourself through comparison and overthinking. You stick to what's safe and settle for an uninspiring practice. You question yourself on blogs and posts. You have difficulty putting yourself out there, and your practice suffers for it. Unfortunately that problem you're stuck on only gets worse. You get deeper into your ruts. You succumb to inertia and keep on doing what we’ve been doing because you're overwhelmed by options.
You know as well as I do: thinking about the change won’t make the change. At a certain point you have to DO something. Accept imperfect action. Iterate, improvise, and make it up as you go. It won’t look smooth. It might feel unfamiliar. But that’s the only way forward.
The Deep Coaching Intensive is called that for a reason. In it you'll build confidence in your practice. You'll develop a clear and focused vision to step into your potential as a coach. And with a unique peer-to-peer support system, you'll have the accountability and support to bring that vision to life.
How did I learn all of this?
After years of banging my head against the wall trying to figure it out solo, I decided to invest in high-level mentorship with a couple of really powerful coaches. The lessons I learned along the way transformed my business and my life. What started as a deep personal practice rippled out into my professional life as well. I found more fulfillment in my work and more balance in my life than ever before.
I've learned that when you understand the mind-body connection, you expand what you're capable of as a coach, and you can help your clients achieve more than they thought possible in a fraction of the time.
And if you effectively communicate with them in an authentic way, you help them change not only how they move, but how they live. That multiplies the value you provide ten times over.
That's exactly why I created The Soma School. I've studied the living body for years, and I synthesize evidence-based practices and somatic education to help students change their lives through movement. Over the years I've blended in what I've learned from the worlds of psychology, therapy, and deep coaching to empower them even further.
But I'm not some ivory tower academic (actually I turned down a PhD program to pursue real-world education). This framework was developed over the years in a full-time coaching practice...both to help my clients get better results and to solve my own nagging issues with pain, mobility, and confidence.
I'm a frequent contributor and "best of" writer for industry leaders like Breaking Muscle and Functional Movement, and I've consulted with dozens of companies--ranging from health education, to NFL teams, to forensic psychology--to help them develop more integrated training & teaching protocols.
Since then I've built a global coaching practice that lets me work with inspiring coaches and teachers from around the world. It's a thrill to help them make a bigger impact. I want to share with you how I did it and help you find your own way forward.

He broke everything down and now it all seems so much simpler. Everything feels so much better now! I have more clarity and confidence moving forward, and everything I am applying is potent with the results I've been looking for." - Tim Norton
